Does teaching reading feel overwhelming?

Your students are all over the map.

In the same room you have children who are reading above grade level and students who get stuck sounding out words.

You’re passionate about growing engaged, proficient readers, but every year you have a few students who Just. Don't. Get it.

You're starting to ask yourself, “Am I doing this right?”

You've heard about the science of reading, but you wonder if it's all just another fad. Can you trust it?

And if you can trust it, how does it apply to teaching reading in K-2?

You don't want to be dragged into the reading wars. You just want to know the what, why, and how of best practices in teaching reading.

Imagine having the knowledge and tools you need to meet the varied needs of ALL your learners.

What if you could get a solid understanding of the research without spending hours reading dry professional journals?

What if you knew how to pinpoint each student's instructional needs and make a doable plan for moving forward?

What if you could find a solid system for teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, and vocabulary?

What if you could be confident that your students had exactly what they need to grow in fluency and achieve the ultimate goal - strong reading comprehension?

What if you had the resources you need to plan engaging whole-class lessons and efficient, targeted small group instruction?

What you want is within your reach.

You can learn the science of reading without getting another degree.

You can use quick and simple assessments to gauge your students' needs.

You don't need to throw out everything you've ever known or done. (Whew!)

You just need a solid understanding of current research along with practical tools and a simple system to bring it to life in your classroom.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions our most successful students have asked before enrolling

How can I ask my administrator to cover the cost?

Simply download this letter in Microsoft Word and personalize it for your needs!

When does the course start and finish?

When you sign up, you'll receive immediate access to Module 1. You’ll receive access to 1-2 modules each week until the 6 weeks are complete.  A little busy? Don't worry about getting behind! The course is self-paced.

Does my location matter?

Nope! Since the videos are pre-recorded, you can watch them any time of the day or night.

How long will I have access to the course content?

Your membership doesn't expire. In fact, you'll have access to Teaching Every Reader for as long as it's online. Should we ever retire the course, we'll be sure to give you plenty of heads-up so you can download everything  you need.

I'm a busy teacher. Do I have time for this?

If you’d like to complete the course in six weeks, you’ll need 1-3 hours each week to watch the videos and review the material.

But you can take the course at your own pace!

Since you have permanent access, you can log in to complete the course or review the material any time you’d like!

I really don't want to do homework, take quizzes, or write papers. Do I have to?

Nope! Teaching Every Reader isn't like a traditional college course.

It's better.

Think of it has a vault of lessons that you can access and review any time you want - on your own time.

While the course does include quizzes, they are not required.

I'm not a teacher. Can I still take the course?

Teaching Every Reader is open to everyone who wants to gain a better understanding of how to teach reading well.

Can the no-print resources be used with Seesaw?

Because of the many limitations of the Seesaw platform, the no-print resources were created to be used in Google Slides only.

I'd like to take this course, but I've already taken another course about teaching reading. Is this just more of the same?

This course is what we wish we had twenty years ago.

It answers every question we had AND provides hundreds of pages of printable student activities - many of them editable.

We've also completely revised the course to reflect the current research.

Teaching Every Reader really is a jackpot of teaching methods and resources.

We believe it’s one of a kind.

Is this course a complete curriculum?

Teaching Every Reader is a flexible guide, not a curriculum.

That’s a good thing!

We've designed the templates, cheat sheets, and printables to be used in any K-2 classroom.

Can I get support from the instructors?

Anna and Becky look forward to coaching and supporting you in the Facebook group.

Do I need to have a Facebook account to take the course?

Nope! The Facebook account is so that you may communicate and collaborate with your fellow teachers in the course. It's also the place where your instructors will answer your questions about teaching reading.

But it’s not a requirement for getting incredible value out of Teaching Every Reader.

Will I get continuing education credits?

Each student will receive a certificate for 20 hours of continuing education credits upon completing the course.

This certificate can be used for professional development hours if your school, district, or employer accepts them. Please note that we don't actually provide the CEU's; this is usually done through your district office or employer.

Since each state's requirements are different, we ask that you check with your district office prior to your enrollment.

Teaching Every Reader is perfect for you if …

  • You’re just getting started in your teaching career and want to build a solid foundation right out of the gate.
  • You’re an experienced teacher ready to learn more about the science of reading, and you’re ready to equip yourself with new strategies and time-saving tips.
  • You have no problem investing a few hours a week as long as you know that every bit of energy you invest is one step closer to reaching every reader in your classroom.
  • In fact, you’re ALREADY investing time and energy trying to reach every reader. The only problem is, you lack a streamlined system for fitting it all together and making all your efforts worthwhile.
  • You’re ready to kick overwhelm to the curb, because you know that solid, effective instruction is within your grasp.
  • You feel confident grabbing your access details knowing you have 14 days to decide if Teaching Every Reader is right for you.
